Hello!
I’m Kristi. It’s nice to meet you.
Kristi Kanehen, MS, LMFTA
At Wabi Sabi Therapy, I provide individualized care for adult individuals, romantic relationships, and platonic relationships. I primarily work with individuals and relationships where obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is present, those identifying as women in the global majority, and multi-racial relationships.
Services
Individual Therapy
I work with adults (18+) who are experiencing a variety of challenges as they navigate adult decision-making, relationships, life transitions, and general change.
relationship Therapy
I work with adults at all stages of their relationships; this can include dating, co-habitating, married, or somewhere in-between.
platonic relationship Therapy
I work with platonic relationships including friendships, roommates, and adult siblings. We work through a specific challenge, often around communication.
OCD therapy
I work with adults (18+) who have or suspect they have OCD. I also work with people navigating OCD in their partnerships, families, or other significant relationships in their life.
What is wabi-sabi?
Wabi-sabi is defined by the Oxford English Dictionary as a Japanese aesthetic and philosophical worldview that finds beauty in imperfection, impermanence, and simplicity.
It celebrates the natural cycle of growth and decay, encouraging the appreciation of rustic, aged, or flawed objects and experiences rather than seeking flawless perfection (OED).
The goal of therapy is not to eliminate or erase our past or our scars - but find a way to navigate the world with them and try to accept ourselves for who we are, flaws and all.
